Day 36

Last night we had a blast with our good friends from Cowboy Church.  Mexican food, music, dancing, games & lots of great company.

On our 1 hr. dirve home Michael & I talked about the way we are raising our children and the way we grew up.  To sum it up we both feel that it's most important that they know the Lord and have a personal relationship with Him.  When I say personal I mean that they love the Lord and know He loves them in return.  That He is thier rock and that through Him they can do whatever His will is for thier lives, no matter what that might be.  To us the most important thing we want our children to know & understand is that life isn't always easy. There will be hard times & important decisions to make, but they need to know the most important thing is to be true to the Lord and do whatever they feel He is asking them to do & not be worried about what other people might think or say.  I want my kids to be who they know they are in Christ & share His love.  I just really want them to have a firm foundation and unshakable faith in our GOD.

With that being said about our conversation Saturday night, I would like to share some of Pastor Franklin's message from this morning entitled How to ensure your future success.  Scripture Joshua 4:6-9

Building a memorial to remind generations who got you where you are.  We need to teach our kids about the Lord and what he's done and what he can do.  He went on to say we get our roots achored where past generations fell away(grandpartents/lost loved ones) faith is transfered and if your roots weren't established in the Lord from past generations you can start it now.

By the blood, through the water & the cloud-follow the leading of the Lord.

Stones don't give in to preasure & God never changes...stones=tithing, prayer, church, fiath, holiness, moral purity, ext...-live it!  Stones also rep. Paul, Peter, James, John ext..Prov 22:28  Remove not the ancient landmarks that thy fathers set & Jeremiah 6:16 Thus saith the LORD, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls.

Make sure our lives are leading our children toward the stones.  Follow the stones:  Paul, Peter, James & John-path makers become path markers.

You have to follow holiness, it doesn't follow you...leave a stoney path.

Examples of people leaving a stoney path:
Preacher Tommy Branett & his son Matthew(dream center)
Preacher John Hagee & his son Matthew(pastor)
The Copelands, thier kids & grand kids

The point being follow the stones that have been set before you and follow thier paths.  Don't entrust your marrige to someone who's never been married, you want to follow the advice of a christian couple who's been married 50 years and don't take advice on how to raise your children from someone who doesn't have them.  The Bible has set before us great examples of people who trusted in the Lord.  In following Him and His direction your future success will be ensured.
